The census data provides a beginning for allocation of resources, that means that resources for communities like yours are allocated based on the counts of indivduals of all ages based on census data. According to our friends at Count All Kids, the 2010 census missed more than 10% of all children under age 5 in the United States. Here is more about what they shared... "1 in 5 children were missed because their family did not return the form; 4 in 5 lived in families that returned the form but didn’t include the young child on it." We know we can do better, we know that all children count, and we are committed to spreading the message that we need to help families understand that all kids count in the 2020 Census.
The following gallery was developed for use to support and encourage your community to remind families of the importance to include their children in census forms. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to our organization.
